Plant Description
The plant was designed with a Polycondensation capacity of 150 TPD. Subsequently the capacity of Polycondensation has been increased gradually beyond its designed capacity and currently the plant is operating at about 200 TPD (110 MT of POY on Direct Melt Spinning & 90 MTD of Chips).
MPF has 3 extruder Spinning lines with installed capacity of 25 TPD. Out of 90 T Polyester chips produced per day, 25 T is fed into the 3 extruder spinning lines, for the manufacture of speciality POY. Due to the limitation of spinning capacity, the balance around 65 T polyester chips per day, is sold in the market. Out of the 3 extruder spinning lines, 2 lines are mostly used to spin speciality yam like Micro which is mainly exported after Texturizing. The 3rd line spins other speciality yams like Dope dyed black etc. in the batches as and when needed. Thus the total POY capacity is around 135 TPD of which 110 TPD is from DMS and 25 TPD from Extruder spinners.
The POY produced is texturized further to produce either grey yam or dyed yarn. The Texturizing capacity at MPF is around 40 TPD on 16 Texturizing machines. Hence of the total 135 TPD of POY manufactured per day, 40 TPD is texturized in-house at MPF and balance around 95 TPD of Partially Oriented Yarn [POY], is sold in the market. MPF has dyeing capacity of about 18 TPD of Texturised Dyed Yarn. The summary of the capacities at various levels is shown in the table below.

Modern chips are the first ones to run successfully at very high spinning speed mainly due to good filterability and spinnability. Modern's POY has given excellent Texturizing performance on high speed Texturizing machines and was the first to be exhibited by the machine manufacturers like ICBT France & Barmag at 1000 m/min. MPF is the only company in India who has successfully achieved commercialization of the 75/160 micro textured yam production as well as regular exports.
